Home Visiting
Federally funded through Early Head Start, our community-based Home Visiting program serves low-income pregnant women and families with infants and toddlers aged 0 to 3 years.
Our Home Visiting program recognizes that parents are every child’s first and forever teacher. Once a week, for 90 minutes, bilingual home visitors come into the home to facilitate positive relationships between parent and child by providing high-quality early childhood educational activities, parenting education, health, mental wellness, nutrition, and family support services.
Families are invited to attend regular socialization events where they have the opportunity to participate in school readiness activities and to interact with other parents and their children positively.
Parents who have participated in the program express they now feel less isolated and more empowered to advocate for themselves and their children.
According to an Ounce of Prevention, families enrolled in Early Head Start performed better on measures of cognition, social-emotional, and language functioning than their peers who were not enrolled.

Welcoming and thoroughly including children with disabilities and facilitating early intervention services for children with special needs.
Curriculum & Assessments
Home Visitors use the Partners for a Healthy Baby curriculum to provide prenatal and early childhood education. These curricula offer components across multiple domains, including family development, caring for baby, child developmental milestones, and infant cues. Our curriculum in combination with our child development screenings and assessments have a strong emphasis on activities to help children develop cognitive, language, gross motor, fine motor, social/emotional, and self-help skills.
Home Visitors work in partnership with parents to support children and families in achieving their goals as they grow towards school readiness. We celebrate success and milestones, and work to increase opportunities for learning in each child’s environment. If a child scores below age level, we use a strength based approach to offer additional supports to strengthen their ability to meet the developmental goal. When a child may benefit from additional resources, Home Visitors support parents in navigating services through early intervention with our community parents.

To learn more about our program, please call 206-650-8095. If you are interested in enrolling your child, we will send you an application or set up an appointment with you to come to your home to complete the necessary paperwork to determine eligibility.
Application: Once we receive your application, enrollment staff will call to schedule an intake appointment to complete the application process.
