ParentChild+

ParentChild+ provides low-income families with infants and toddlers aged 0 to 3 years with the necessary skills and tools to ensure their children achieve their greatest potential in school and in life.

Early Head Start

Early Head Start is a federally funded community-based program for low-income pregnant women and families with infants and toddlers aged 0 to 3 years.

Head Start/Preschool

Head Start is a federally funded community-based program for low-income, at-risk children (three to five years old) and families.

Play & Learn

Play and Learn is a partnership between DLEC and the Seattle Public Library.

  • The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends children play outside as much as possible, for at least 60 minutes a day.  Outdoor physical activity is good for preventing childhood obesity, improving motor development, and improving vision and vitamin D levels.
