Summer Program

Through a hands-on approach to teaching, we are committed to helping all children achieve Kindergarten Readiness skills prior to entry into the Seattle Public School District.

Early Head Start

Early Head Start is a federally funded community-based program for low-income pregnant women and families with infants and toddlers aged 0 to 3 years.

Head Start/Preschool

Head Start is a federally funded community-based program for low-income, at-risk children (three to five years old) and families.

Play & Learn

Play and Learn is a partnership between DLEC and the Seattle Public Library.

  • Children in poverty show significantly lower levels of proficiency in key cognitive areas, starting as early as 9 months. As children in poverty grow older, the gap between poor and non-poor achievement levels quickly expand. High-quality early education is proven to shrink these gaps.
