Jumpstart volunteers

Dinh, a 2012 Jumpstart and Admin volunteer remarked ” Volunteering at DLEC was very rewarding and every volunteer can help shape the lives of the students regardless of how many hours they can contribute. DLEC is changing the community in a very positive and warming way.”

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please fill out the volunteer application and volunteer screening/profile.

Send these 2 documents back to our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@deniselouie.org with the volunteer position in the subject line. All volunteers need to commit to volunteer for a minimum of 6 weeks, have proof of a TB skin test if volunteering in a classroom, and sign our standards of conduct and confidentiality agreement.

Need the application and profile in a different language (Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese)? – please email our Volunteer Coordinator for the different versions.

  • Ashley's class was the first to have Jumpstart students in the classroom. Jumpstart recruits, trains, supervises, and supports college students to work with early childhood programs in low-income communities such as Head Start. Today she is attending Newport High School and wants to be a Jumpstart student when she is in college.
